Our story with Annavár began in 1982, when my father — who still manages the estate together with my brother — started his work as a young agricultural engineer within the walls of the manor in Nagyhörcsök. At that time the building served as the headquarters of the Nagyhörcsök District of the Mezőfalva Agricultural Combine.
He spent his first years here almost as a way of life for his service apartment was located on the upper floor of the southern wing. During this period he met Count János Zichy, a former resident of the manor, with whom he formed a lifelong friendship.

After the privatization, thanks to the remarkable help and support of Count Zichy and his wife, our family farm gained opportunity to grow and develop.

When the manor had finally drifted to the brink of decay after decades of devastation, for us it was not merely a property, but a spiritual heritage. This house became part of our family through stories, friendship and joint work.

That is why we decided to purchase it and, step by step, breathe new life into it.
Our goal is not only to restore the building itself, but to create a meeting place that unites respect for the past with the creative energy of the present — a home where a family lives and works, yet whose doors are open to the community, the arts and friends of nature.

We know that this is a task that spans generations — requiring a lot of work, perseverance and sacrifice — yet we firmly believe that the shared spirit, the preservation of values and the community that thinks and acts together make Annavár a true, living heritage.
