Our shared story with Annavár began in 1982, when my father — who, together with my brother, still leads the estate today — started his work as a young agricultural engineer within the walls of the manor in Nagyhörcsök. At that time, the building served as the headquarters of the Nagyhörcsök Division of the Mezőfalva Agricultural Combine.
During those early years, he practically lived here, as his service apartment was located on the upper floor of the southern wing. It was during this period that he met Count János Zichy, a former resident of the manor, with whom he developed a lifelong friendship.

After the privatization, thanks to the remarkable help and support of Count Zichy and his wife, our family farm was given the opportunity to grow and develop.

When, after decades of decay, the manor had nearly reached the brink of ruin, it was not merely a property to us — it was a spiritual heritage. Through shared stories, friendships, and work, this house had already become part of our family.

That is why we decided to purchase it and, step by step, breathe new life into it.
Our goal is not only to restore the building itself, but to create a meeting place that unites respect for the past with the creative energy of the present — a home where a family lives and works, yet whose doors are open to the community, to art, and to all who cherish nature.

We know this is a task that spans generations — one that requires work, perseverance, and sacrifice — yet we firmly believe that it is the shared spirit, the preservation of values, and the community that thinks and acts together which will make Annavár a truly living heritage.
